Morgan Makes: Trader Joe’s Green Beans

I was at my friend’s house when I discovered Trader Joe’s Green Beans. These crunchy, salted green beans surprisingly taste just like french fries. And I mean, who could hate a healthy french fry?  They were delicious, but I don’t go to Trader Joe’s very often so I knew that if I wanted to have this tasty snack again, I would have to make it myself. How my Food Crush on Trader Joe’s Taught me Some Lessons in the Appreciation of Food

Believe it or not, at one time, my food preferences weren’t quite as sophisticated as they are now. My parents would attest to the fact that I regularly enjoyed consuming large quantities of Tostito’s salsa from a jar (with matching Tostito’s triangular chips), regular (sometimes Double-Stuffed) Oreos, and Wishbone salad dressings (Ranch only), strangely on items like toast as well as lettuce. While these items have their place, as I’ve grown-up, I have started to appreciate items with a little less preservatives and a lot more individuality and unexpectedness when it comes to flavor mixing and quality. Trader Joe’s Apple Cranberry Chutney


The picture doesn’t do it justice, but what you see above is possibly the simplest, tastiest, most addictive appetizer I have ever had. It’s simple because all it takes is pouring a jar of Trader Joe’s apple cranberry chutney over a log of goat cheese and serving it with crackers. It’s tasty because the chutney is made from all sorts of delicious spices I can’t stop thinking about. And it’s addictive because, well..I just can’t have enough.
