Hi there! Thanksgiving is almost upon us and in all my excitement, anticipation and just plain hullaballoo, I wanted to take a moment to find out what you’re doing for Thanksgiving.

I know what you’re thinking: why are we writing about cranberry sauce twice in a row? Well, for one thing: it’s Thanksgiving, but also, if you read on you’ll find out why this cranberry sauce post is different than the one below it. Maxine and I both decided to look for a new cranberry sauce for this year’s Thanksgiving, but my quest for a twist on this Thanksgiving staple had a very different ending.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner (two weeks from today to be exact!) and I bet by now, you’re probably trying to buckle down, plan out your menus and put together your shopping lists. I haven’t made many pies before (in fact the last pie I made was on “Pi Day”), but as soon as I saw these pie pumpkins on sale at the grocery store, I knew I’d be making pumpkin pie this fall season in some way, shape or form. But I didn’t want just any pumpkin pie, I wanted something different - a deviation from the old yawn of a classic we all serve at our Thanksgiving tables. I wanted tarts. With chocolate on them.
