To finish off my whirlwind review of Madison eating this week, I wanted to end on our highest gastronomical note. (I still have a few Madison yummies up my sleeve, but they’ll pop up when you least expect it!) We wanted to have one “nice” meal while we were there and I suggested L’Etoile and Harvest. I hadn’t been to either, but both are known for their sustainable, organic ingredients and phenomenal cuisine. I left it up to R to peruse the menus and decide, since he has a pickier palate than I do.

The first night that we spent in Madison last weekend was July 4. We had been in Madison over the Fourth of July before and were quite excited for the Rhythm and Booms fireworks show set to music over Lake Mendota. However, due to some odd planning on someone’s part, the fireworks took place the previous weekend and we were left without both rhythm and booms. We had planned to pick up a quick sandwich and picnic near the fireworks, but with our plans foiled, we ended up at an old, classic fallback: Tutto Pasta.

I hope you all had very restful, relaxing and rejuvenating Fourth of July weekends! Mine was spent in Madison, Wisconsin where I went to college and it was utterly perfect. One of my favorite parts about Madison is that it’s not just a college town. After spending four years at the university and countless other visits, I still discover new things with ever visit. Last summer, I dubbed my visit to Madison as our “Unofficial Taste of Madison” because when R and I thought of what to do in our favorite Wisconsin city, it mostly revolved around food. This trip was no different.
