p3190022

As we Chew on That bloggers are rapidly learning, there is a food holiday for EVERY day of the year.  There are also food months and food weeks.  After doing some research, I found that the second week of April is National Egg Salad Week.  Egg salad is one of my favorite things in the world, so I headed over to Recipe4Living to find the perfect recipe for an egg salad celebration! Pecan & Cranberry Bread Adventures!

p3240032

Lately at the Recipe4Living office, we have been getting serious cases of the munchies.  A while back, we received an Emerilware Bread Machine by T-fal.  We used it a couple times, but lately, it has been sitting around and gathering dust.  “Let’s bust out that bread maker and bake some bread!” we decided one day.  After leafing through the Emerilware Bread Maker recipe book, we decided to bake a loaf of the delicious-sounding Pecan & Dried Cranberry Whole Wheat Bread

National Sauce Month

pesto

Are you one of those people that puts some kind of sauce on every meal you eat? I know several people just like that, and the first that comes to my mind is my boyfriend. It’s a long day, to the say the least. Although I usually pack a light lunch to get me through that second class, during my break between classes and my meeting, I always make sure to head down the block to the wonderful little restaurant, the Soupbox.

Make the Switch to Whole Wheat

We’ve all known that whole wheat bread is healthier than white bread, but have you actually made the switch? These days, places like Potbelly’s, Panera and Go Roma are smartening up to the benefits of whole wheat and offering whole wheat bread on sandwiches, whole wheat baguettes as sides, and whole wheat crust for pizza (respectively). And the list doesn’t stop there. Anything that’s made with flour can be made with whole wheat: pastas, cookies, muffins, you name it. So when you have the choice, do you choose whole wheat?
