Happy National Apple Strudel Day!

It’s a little odd that America would have a holiday for a traditionally Austrian and Hungarian dessert, but we’re not complaining. How can you when apple is one of the the most American fruits, in my opinion at least. Truth be told, I’ve only eaten an apple strudel once in my life. It wasn’t something I’d write home about, but we’re still going to devote a post celebrating this European pastry that has been around for centuries.

Why I Stay Vegetarian

I’ve been a vegetarian for just over five years now.  Who knew that an experiment to demonstrate my will-power  to avoid college foods like fried chicken and cheeseburgers would have resulted in a complete lifestyle transformation.  After becoming a vegetarian, I decided to keep the progress going and tried to find the campus gym.  Well, as luck had it, I lived right up the street from the gym.  This was where my love of running and all things health and fitness-related began. As Easy As Apple Pie

Over the weekend I made an apple pie that was not only easy but delicious too. Growing up,  I was never a big apple pie fan. In fact, it wasn’t until recently that apple pie even appealed to me. There is something to be said about  homemade apple pie with homemade filling. The freshness preserves the texture and the taste making a much better pie if you ask me.
