People have recently become concerned about increased radiation exposure since the Japan nuclear meltdown. What people often don’t realize is that we are exposed to radiation on a daily basis with our cell phones, x-rays, airport body scanners, and many other things. There are foods that can shield us from radiation exposure and certified nutrition coach David Herzog has put them all together in this tasty salad recipe.

Sitting near the side of my refrigerator, I noticed an interesting little jar last week. It was filled with something called hearts of palm, and I’ll admit, they were kind of weird looking. Each one was about 3-4 inches long, and half an inch think.
Milky white in color, they almost reminded me extra large cigarettes. When I touched them, I was a little put off by the slippery, slimy texture, but when I noticed that there was a mini cylinder within the outer shell, I was like, “I need to try this!” Keep reading to see what I thought!

I don’t eat out very often for a couple of reasons. First off, it’s expensive. If I go to a nice place, I don’t want a little bowl of soup. I’m going to go for creamy pasta or some baby-back-ribs. Number two, eating out isn’t very healthy. Yes, there may be a bunch of healthier options on the menu, but those aren’t going to be the things I order. But I’m not a complete lame, I swear. I do treat myself once a week.
Every Thursday, I go out to eat with two of my fellow Recipe4Living and Chew on That editors, but we stick to smaller places, such as Go Roma and Roti. The former has good Italian food, and the latter is all about healthier Middle Eastern cuisine. Keep reading for my Go Roma order choices! Plus, I’ll give you some similar recipes so you don’t have to travel to Go Roma. You can just make my meal at home!

There’s only one week left in the summer and I’m sad to see it go. It’s almost time to say goodbye to those delicious summer berries and melons and hello to the pumpkins, pears, and apples of fall.
