Fondue Fun At The Melting Pot

Last night my girlfriends and I went to The Melting Pot for their Ladies’ Night Out. It was one of our last times together before we all part ways for school at the end of the month and we thought fondue would be a fun way to celebrate. Authentic Mexican Cuisine At Zocalo Chicago

This weekend, I got to have some of the most authentic Mexican cooking that I’ve had outside of Mexico. It was at Chicago’s own Zocalo, a beautiful restaurant located on Ontario Street. The unassuming exterior leads to a beautiful and warmly decorated interior, filled with authentic Mexican art and photos of famous Mexican people. The food served there literally took me back to Mexico; as a Mexican-food-lover, I didn’t expect any food to be able to take me back there. III Forks? 5 Stars.

I don’t hide my disdain for chain restaurants. I define a chain restaurant as a brand that has at least five locations. I find that the original idea behind a chain may be good, but it becomes tough for the subsequent locations to maintain the food quality. Eventually, chains become synonymous with mediocre food at decent prices. So when I was invited to III Forks to have dinner on Saturday night, you better believe I was worried. III Forks is a steakhouse and seafood restaurant with 3 locations in Texas, 3 locations in Florida, and one location in downtown Chicago. I was preparing myself for a mediocre experience, but what I got is one of the best restaurant experiences that I have ever had.  Read the rest of this entry »

A Love Letter… To An Epic Pork Chop

Dear Epic Pork Chop,

Prior to meeting you, I loathed your kind. They were thin, flimsy, and tasted like cardboard that bathed in gray, flavorless liquids. I continually gave them repeated chances, to no avail. Every time I’d open my heart to them, they’d return my gesture by nearly breaking my teeth. I admit, I frequently cheated on them with chicken breasts, beef, and even fish.
