A Radiation-Fighting Recipe

People have recently become concerned about increased radiation exposure since the Japan nuclear meltdown. What people often don’t realize is that we are exposed to radiation on a daily basis with our cell phones, x-rays, airport body scanners, and many other things. There are foods that can shield us from radiation exposure and certified nutrition coach David Herzog has put them all together in this tasty salad recipe.

Get Ready for March Produce Madness!!

Everyone’s getting pumped to find out who the number 1 seeds are going to be in NCAA March Madness, but we’re even more pumped to find out which produce ingredients reigns supreme this month! In the spirit of March Madness, we’re hosting our very own battle, filled with the freshest ingredients from every season.

Each day, we’ll have a new match-up between two produce ingredients. We’re beginning with the two spring ingredients, strawberry and artichoke. Which ingredient would you rather eat or which do you enjoy cooking with most? Whichever you prefer, make sure to vote for it so it can move ahead and have a chance to become the March Produce Champion! Your vote determines which fruit or vegetable makes it to the next round.

Get Ready For Fall With Some New Recipes


I absolutely love the transition from summer to fall, watching the leaves change and enjoying the days as they get crisper and cooler. My meals start to switch from barbecue to more wholesome and comforting dishes, filled with hearty vegetables like zucchini and pumpkin.

I always get a little sentimental when the seasons change too, and I try to continue to buy summer fruits until the point of no return. That’s when I finally look at those strawberries and have to tell myself…there is no way that you are eating that! Find Local Fruit Online!


The other day, I read about a website called  It basically allows you to register the fruit from your yard online and share it with local people.  You can also register as a fruit-seeker and search for fruit on the website.  On top of that, public fruit trees are registered on the site, so you can find a park in your neighborhood that has an apple tree, for example, and pick to your heart’s delight.
