Making Your Own Sauces

A store-bought sauce just doesn’t compare to a sizzling one cooking over the stove. That’s especially true for spaghetti sauces and other gourmet Italian favorites. I strong believe that no pasta should come un-sauced, and my boyfriend would say the same. He literally puts sauce on everything, and most of the time, it’s hot sauce. I skip the spicy stuff, but I do love thick, rich and creamy sauces on meat and pasta!

Mom’s Meat Spaghetti Sauce


My mom is one of the best cooks I know. She knows how to add the right spices to any dish to give it a flavorful kick, and her meat spaghetti sauce recipe is no exception. Usually she just uses fresh tomatoes for this recipe, but this time, things were a little different. She was testing Pomi Chopped Tomatoes, a brand that she had never tried before. Angie’s Whole Wheat Pizza


I’ve mentioned before that pizza is one of my favorite foods. I prefer plain cheese, and no other toppings. Despite that simple thing, I’m pretty picky in all other respects. The crust has to be crispy. I can’t deal with globs of cheese. That totally grosses me out. I can’t have overwhelming amounts of sauce, or I will wipe it off. Needless to say, when my sister, Angie, told me she wanted to make a pizza, I was a little apprehensive. Read about how it turned out after the jump!

The Best Pizza Dip Ever!


I’m a major sucker for pizza. It’s cheesy and delicious, so when I heard that my aunt had created a pizza dip, I couldn’t wait for a taste. After work one day, my aunt was having a family party, so I stopped by. My other aunt (the one who makes the pizza dip) wasn’t there yet. But I knew that when she came, she’d have that tasty pizza dip with her. Usually after work, I eat pretty soon after I get home. Needless to say, I was getting pretty hungry at my aunt’s house. After 20 minutes, the doorbell rang and in walked my aunt carrying a massive tray of pizza dip!
