My Trip to New Orleans: What I Ate and How I Ate It!

Last weekend, I headed to New Orleans with a friend to see Jazzfest and explore the city.  One of our favorite things to do in the city was walk around and simply eat everything in sight! How to Make King Cake

Even if you’re not celebrating Mardi Gras, you have to admit, the King Cake looks pretty awesome. Famous in the South, especially New Orleans, a King Cake looks like a big cinnamon roll filled with cream cheese and covered with sugary icing and colorful sprinkles.

Inside the cake is a small trinket, and the person that gets the piece of cake with the trinket is supposed to be responsible for making or buying the King Cake for next year. If you’re the one making the King Cake, have no fear! We’ll tell you exactly how to make this delicious doughnut-like dessert.
