On My Food Calendar…

I am prone to over-scheduling, and I dislike letting occasions go by without acknowledging and celebrating them. Half-birthdays, anniversaries of engagements, and especially holidays are excuses to make and eat great food and celebrate. Read on to see the big (and little) days that are on my calendar and appropriate recipes for each occasion!

The Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 4:  Wear your silliest big hat or bow-tie and celebrate this horse race with your friends and family. Make any one of these Kentucky Derby Recipes such as Mint Juleps or Kentucky Beer Cheese and you are guaranteed to have one heck of a party.

Cinco de Mayo on Sunday, May 5: Celebrate the pride of Mexican heritage on this day with some great salsa or guacamole and chips. For more ideas on food and drinks that would be great for a Mexican-inspired party, read on here!

Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12: Thank Mom for everything she does throughout the year by cooking her a special meal, perhaps with the help of An Indulgent Mother’s Day Brunch Menu or 10 Desserts To Make For Mom.
