Campbell’s Go – The Best Tasting Microwave Soup I’ve Ever Had!

I’ve known since my childhood that Campbell’s can be depended on for a whole host of traditional soups such as Chicken Noodle, Tomato, and Cream of Mushroom. Recently, Campbell’s introduced 6 new flavors of soup in convenient Go bags perfect for the young at heart, requiring only 2 1/2 minutes of microwave time before you pour it into a bowl (or eat it right out of the bag)! Keep reading to learn more about the varieties of soup available and why they make one of the best work lunches I’ve ever eaten.

Campbell’s Go soups are available in 6 unique flavors that draw inspiration from global cuisines, including Coconut Curry with Chicken & Shiitake Mushrooms; Moroccan Style Chicken with Chickpeas; Chicken & Quinoa with Poblano Chilies; Creamy Red Pepper with Smoked Gouda; Spicy Chorizo & Pulled Chicken with Black Beans; and Golden Lentil with Madras Curry.

When I first heard these delicious-sounding flavor pairings, I thought they sounded like varieties named off a restaurant menu. No offense to all the other soups out there, but Coconut Curry with Chicken & Shiitake Mushrooms is not the typical variety that you expect to be awaiting you in the soup aisle. Nor is the clean design, sans-serif font, and bold colors of the packaging at all similar to the other cans and envelopes that might be on your list but shoved to the back of the Lazy Susan when you get home.

Imagine my large grin when Campbell’s surprised our office with a sample of each new soup flavor via post; editors actually stood up from their desks and immediately chose which one would replace that sandwich and those leftovers they had previously planned on eating for lunch.

I personally tried the Creamy Red Pepper with Smoked Gouda and it was unlike any store-bought soup that I’d ever tried before. I loved the larger chunks of red pepper and the smooth cheesy vegetable base that really made it feel like a satisfying, standalone meal. Unlike most cans of regular Campbell’s soup, you don’t add water or milk, so the soup is an extremely filling blend that has a great consistency.

And, since I’m a social media marketing-obsessed twenty-something, I can speak to the fact that Campbell’s is making a campaign to introduce this new product that is getting some serious notice. Campbell’s Go is a brand that I actually want to follow on Facebook (I never thought that day would come…) considering the amusing memes and graphics, and lack of wordy self-promoting traditional advertisements. Thanks also for making me smile during my daily Buzzfeed perusing at work with your 18 Mind Blowing Hacks For Food On-The-Go and other lol-worthy articles.

So Campbell’s, much gratitude for throwing tradition out the window on this one. Soup for the modern working person shouldn’t be thinned with water, the package doesn’t require a gold seal authenticating that it’s been tried and true for a century-plus, convenience doesn’t necessitate the soup be drinkable, and we can be excited to go pick out work lunches from the soup aisle!

I recommend that you try at least one of these soups if you’re ever in a hurry for lunch, or just looking for a convenient dinner or snack. At your local grocery store, it’s $2.99 for a 14-ounce package. You can visit Campbell’s Go on Facebook to get a $1.00 off coupon towards the purchase of a Campbell’s Go soup. Work lunch for under 2 bucks – you simply can’t beat it.

Enjoy, and happy [2.5 minutes of unsupervised] cooking!

Sounds wonderful but I wonder about the salt content. Canned soups are notoriously salt laden.
