Bon Appetit’s Best New Restaurants
Bon Appetit has announced its list of best new restaurants! Did your favorite make the list? Which should you check out in your city or while on vacation in another fantastic foodie town? Keep reading to find out!
The list of 50 nominees is out today, and 10 will be chosen as the best of the best tomorrow. Until then, we’ve highlighted our favorites:
2853 North Kedzie Avenue
With plenty of expert experience behind him at Charlie Trotter’s (10 years, to be exact), Matthias Merges opened up shop with this locale that serves up Japanese small plates with a twist. I adore the Thai basil ice cream, and the atmosphere is clever and inviting for all types of dining groups.
The Bachelor Farmer
50 North 2nd Avenue
The warehouse environment is clean and classic and very Scandinavian. Try their eggplant and pork toast and potatoes with braised kale, then hit up Marvel Bar downstairs for an after-dinner cocktail that will blow your mind.
1633 North Halsted Street
A popular dinner spot for Steppenwolf Theater-goers, this Italian stallion offers up pizza that is to die for. I also love the mackerel with garlic aioli and the egg, sage and brown butter pasta. Cocktail of choice? The Pina: Amaro Sibilla, Corzo Reposado, Cointreau, grapefruit and sage.
Did one of your favorites make the list? Everywhere from California to the New York Island to the redwood forest and Gulf stream waters was included!
Let me know which tickles your fancy in the COMMENTS!
Until next time,
