Get the Recipe! McDonald’s Copycat Special Sauce

We know that the readers go gaga for copycat recipes, and this is one of our absolute favorites. Don’t act like you haven’t pulled up to the Mickey D’s drive-thru window at least once in the past year, whether it was for fries and a burger or just a coffee or Coke. Keep reading to get the super-popular recipe that is the ultimate in copycat finds!

Now if only we had the recipe for those fries! Check out the recipe (verified by McDonald’s!) for the special sauce that makes the Big Mac as popular as it is. Grill up some burgers on the grill and test this out for yourself. We bet you love it! This recipe creates 8 servings, so keep the family and friends on hand!

McDonald’s Copycat Special Sauce


1/4 C. salad dressing (such as Miracle Whip®)
1/4 C. mayonnaise
3 Tbs. French salad dressing
1/2 Tbs. sweet pickle relish
1 1/2 Tbs. dill pickle relish
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. dried, minced onion
1 tsp. white vinegar
1 tsp. ketchup
1/8 tsp. salt


Stir all ingredients together in a small bowl. Microwave the bowl on HIGH for 30 seconds, then refrigerate for 1+ hours before serving. Enjoy!

    I worked at a McDonald’s back in 1977. Their “Special Sauce” came out of a #10 can that said “Thousand Island Dressing” with a McDonald’s logo on it. I stopped eating at McDonald’s a few weeks after I started working there.
