Whether you’re buying your date popcorn, peanuts or Cracker Jack, chances are you’ve craved some of these baseball season staples when you’re at home. We have our top picks, from nachos and beer-infused recipes to ballpark pizza and brats. Keep reading for our favorite picks that deserve to be up to bat instead of sitting on the sidelines!
What is better than a warm Spring or Summer day out at the ballpark with your friends and family? I have amazing memories of being taken to Wrigley Field as a kid, which then turned into a few (Senior Ditch) days at the field, more than 75 nights out in Wrigleyville the summer I turned 21 and plenty of times sitting at home with the radio turned up, the grill ready to go and a couple of friends enjoying the lazy days of Summer. Baseball is synonymous with life in Chicago for anyone who grew up in the city; the only choice to be made was Cubs or White Sox. Growing up on the North side with most of my family living in the Wrigley area, there was no question that our family bled Cubbie blue.
I recently enjoyed a night out at the Wrigleyville Rooftops; I highly recommend the experience to anyone looking to celebrate an engagement, a bachelor party or a big birthday. Food and drinks are included in the price; there are plenty of stations to grab a beer and the food is terrific, too. Whether you’re craving a brat or a zesty side salad, this place has you covered. You can enjoy the floor-to-ceiling windows that allow a view of Wrigley from the indoors or you can do it right by heading to the roof to enjoy the weather and socialize with your fellow fans. Make sure to eat a bit so that you don’t overdo it with the beer!
This is a food-related marker currently residing on the corner of Addison and Clark that I took a picture of a couple of weeks ago. If that doesn’t make you hungry, what will?
