Happy National Popcorn Day! Enter to WIN with Southern Recipe! -ENDED

Happy National Popcorn Day! Keep reading for popcorn tips and history and how you can win the new variety from Southern Recipe!

Hi all, it’s Emilie again, and I have another great foodie contest for you!

Southern Recipe, the tastiest crunch in the South, wants to wish you a Happy National Popcorn Day. In honor of this special day, enter to win their NEW Cheesy Cajun Popcorn. It has two distinct flavors that give it a southern kick: a flavorful cheesy taste and the spicy twist of Cajun!

“Ready-to-eat popcorn has been the fastest-growing segment of the popcorn market overall, said Mark Singleton of Southern Recipe. “Our version is the perfect snack for so many occasions: whether you’re watching the game with friends, getting work done around the house or watching a movie on television, it is sure to satisfy.”

Did you know that American Indians used popcorn for food and decorations in the 1400′s in North America? There is even evidence of popcorn dating back to 3600 B.C. (New Mexico).

Here are some ways to enjoy your popcorn:

Have a movie night in!
Create popcorn balls!

Make your popcorn taste like pizza!
Grill it up!

If you make your own popcorn or have extra left over, store it in an airtight container (glass or plastic). You want to prevent moisture loss so that the popcorn doesn’t become stale. Some people think that storing popcorn in the fridge makes the popcorn taste better; it usually just dries out the product.

So what can you win?

The Prize: Five (5) lucky winners will win 3 bags of Southern Recipe’s NEW Cheesy Cajun Flavored Popcorn

Timeline: This giveaway will run until Sunday, January 22nd, 2012 at 11:59pm CDT.  The winner will be chosen at random and contacted via email on Monday, January 23rd, 2012.

It’s got a great crunch and takes on a whole lot of flavor. You can even coat it with a toffee crunch!

We eat a bag every day. It is the easiest snack to eat and not too messy.
