Warm Up – Host a Soup Potluck Party!

Holiday season is fast approaching, but there is some time before major holidays like Thanksgiving. Why not host a soup party? We have the best recipes to help warm you up and the drinks (alcoholic and non!) you can sample in between tastings. Keep reading for all the details, tips and recipes! These soups bring back memories, keep you satisfied and give you great options for starters for your holiday meals.

Some of the best parties combine easy dishes with a selection of beverages. Your guests will love the options, and each can bring their own pre-made soup to create a soup potluck party! Soup can bring back memories, keep you warm and toasty in Fall and Winter and inspire you to create new recipes with personal touches. Here are some of our absolute favorites!

Unstuffed Pepper Soup
Cheesy Potato Soup
Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup
One Pot Meatball and Gnocchi Soup
Crockpot Caramelized French Onion Soup
Chicken Tortilla Soup

What goes good with soup? Beer, of course! If you aren’t a beer drinker, there are plenty of other drinks that complement the texture and flavors of a rich and creamy soup:

Crockpot Mulled Cider
Hot Raspberry Cider
Orange and Honey Coffee
Hot Buttered Rum
Ginger Cinnamon Tea
Rhubarb Wine

We also love soup with a side of bread, of course! Try Olive and Rosemary Bread, Honey Zucchini Bread or some Pull-Apart Cheese Bread!

Be the “hostess with the mostess”- provide your guests with any extras they may need to make their dish special, whether it is a touch of red wine, a sprinkle of cheese or some cracked peppercorns and cayenne pepper. Provide a spice selection on the counter so guests can punch up their soups to their taste and spice level. Set up your iPod so that fun tunes are playing and bust out some board games to keep guests busy after they eat. Another terrific Fall idea is to toast some marshmallows to toast at the end of the night, whether it’s at your fire pit or indoors with your toaster oven!
