Food in The News: The Pioneer Woman blogger debuts her new TV show!

Blogger Ree Drummond has gotten her own Food Network show! Read on to learn about the woman descending from the frontier and about her Western cooking style (butter abounds!)

‘I’m a desperate housewife. I live in the country. I channel Lucille Ball, Vivien Leigh, and Ethel Merman. Welcome to my frontier!’

This is the description header that appears on the The Pioneer Woman blog by Ree Drummond. She started the blog after she (then a vegetarian) met and married a true cowboy of the west! Like Paula Deen, she is cooking with butter and flour and isn’t expecting people who love healthy fare to read her recipes or  embrace her cooking style. Drummond also has a cookbook and memoir in circulation and plans to incorporate her husband and children into the mix on her new TV show for the Food Network.

Her blog is a fan favorite, a resource for foodies and a haven for the cowboy lifestyle. In addition to beautiful photography, she covers everything from garden tips to stress reduction. She even has a weekend movie quiz! This ‘Pioneer Woman’ has had to do without water in her home before (not by choice!), but in many ways, she’s a woman for the ages. Tune in to her new show to see her strut her stuff (in a Stetson).

THIS SHOW REALLY BLOWS.I watch FN 24-7 and this is the lamest thing ever dreamed up after Food Truck Race. This show really bites and it is on Saturday my day off. Watch this farce if you want to puke up breakfast. They should make a real cooking show starring the Chopped chefs from France Ziggy and Joghann. This show pioneer woman is about cobbling some hodge-podge mess into a meal, a subject covered better on triple D.Cancel this horrible show.
