Emeril to be on Top Chef

The world of t.v. fanatics, cooks, foodies, and just plain eaters is abuzz – Emeril is joining the guest panel on the popular hit show Top Chef! Keep reading to find out what we love about Emeril, and how to be a top chef in your kitchen!

If you’ve ever watched Emeril on TV, we’re sure you’re accustomed to his excited attitude about cooking. Whether he says “BAM!” or “KICK IT UP A NOTCH!” you know that he has a zest for cooking. 1. Use Spices. Adding some simple spices to your food can really up the flavor. Adding salt, pepper, and minced garlic to any cut of steak will really improve it’s flavor. Add these spices to vegetables, stir fry, or even pasta for a truly interesting taste combination. You probably already have these items in your spice rack, so use them!

2. Make it Hot. Even if you’re not a fan of spicy food, adding a little hint of hot peppers can give your food a much needed flavor boost. If you like Mild Salsa, try adding 1/4 or 1/2 of a finely chopped jalapeno or serrano pepper. It really won’t make it hot, trust us! You will like the extra flavor.

3. Mix it up. Make your meals and sides more interesting with  more colors and flavors. If you’re making rice or corn, add in some finely chopped cilantro for extra kick and vibrant color. With cheesy potatoes, add in some bacon bits. Not only will your food taste better, it’ll look more sophisticated and put-together!
