Hearty Dinner Thursday: Fettuccine Alfredo

We’re starting a bunch of new features here at Chew On That, and we know you’ll love our Thursday feature entitled “Hearty Dinner Thursday.” This post is meant to give readers a way to add some protein to their Thursday dinners in a healthier way! Truly, a post for us omnivores!

First off, you need to start off with the base of your dinner: Fettuccine Alfredo. There are lots of great recipes out there but that one has definitely passed the test with thousands of our readers.

Once you cook your pasta and sauce, there are a multitude of ways to customize your Fettuccine Alfredo. I recently ate a dish of it that included Canadian Bacon, peas, and roasted red peppers. For a similarly delicious combination of ingredients, check out this recipe that uses broccoli and cauliflower for a colorful and flavorful dish.

You can use any number of meats to make this dish especially hearty! We recommend adding chicken or whitefish, much like this recipe that calls for extra peas and chicken.

However you decide to customize your Fettuccine Alfredo, we know you’ll love it as this week’s hearty dinner.  Your family will definitely feel warm after enjoying this sumptuous meal. Enjoy!

This is the perfect for company recipe when you want to serve a delicious dish that everyone will love and will super-impress your guests and have them all begging for the recipe. However I can hardly ever get my act together enough to marinate the chicken 2-4 hours before I eat so….Usually I just go ahead and put the chicken right in and let it hang out in there while Im making the breading mix..The Breading Mix..Ingredients .1 cup all-purpose flour.1 3 cup seasoned bread crumbs.1 teaspoon kosher salt.1 teaspoon baking powder.1 tbsp ..Whisk together flour bread crumbs salt baking powder and steak seasoning in a medium bowl…Did you know that whisking produces the same texture as sifting?
