Now That Easter’s Over…
It’s time to get pumped for Memorial Day! That means barbecue food galore. As much as I love spring, we don’t really experience it in Chicago. It might get up to 60 degrees a handful of times, but usually we’re in the 40s, and it’s raining. As you can guess that’s not fun at at all. But if you can keep your eye on the prize (like I’m trying to!), you’ll get through this horrid spring in no time and move on to summer. Keep reading for some barbecue picks!
One of the main reasons why I love summer is the food! I’m a sucker for a cheeseburger and fries, even more so now that my little brother is experimenting with this grilling skills. He’s pretty good, and I know he’s going to cook us up some vegetables, hot dogs and chicken pretty often during the warm months. But he doesn’t have too many recipes to choose from.
After all, he’s not used to looking through cookbooks or searching the web for the perfect burger recipe. He’ll usually ask one of the women in our family. So when he comes to me, I’m going to give him some of my top picks.
Grilled Vegetables – My sister doesn’t eat that much meat, so I know he’ll have his work cut off for him when trying to keep her full during a BBQ.
Grilled Chicken - My mom isn’t as picky as my sister, but when it comes to meat, she’ll only eat chicken. I guess my bro needs some grilled chicken recipes too.
Burgers – I’m the easy one. Just give me a burger and I’m 100% good to go!
French Fries – No barbecue is complete without this side!
