Major League Baseball kicks off tonight! Is anyone else getting pumped? I am! Every year, I tell myself that this could be the year that the Chicago Cubs break their curse and win a World Series. I’m actually going to be at the Cubs game on Saturday. Woo! It’s an afternoon game, so I’ll be chowing done on a Chicago-style hot dog, french fries and a couple beers.
The only bad thing is that it’s going to be pretty cold. But just as long as it doesn’t rain, I can make the best out of any situation. Plus, there are about 25 of us going. What does that mean? We could get an entire section of El for ourselves! That alone would be a fun sight to see. Keep reading for some yummy baseball eats!
If you’re not fortunate enough to be attending a baseball game this weekend, don’t despair. Most of the games are probably going to be in cold temperatures with chances of rain. You might just be better off sitting in a comfortable chair in your family room with some good food and even better company. Cubs games are known to get a bit rowdy.
In need of a menu? I’ve got just the thing. Since it’s still going to be a bit chilly, you can actually get away with serving chili during the first month of baseball season.
Hot dogs are also a must. Seriously, you can make them just as a delicious as an authentic ballpark frank! Add some potatoes on the side, or another yummy classic: baked beans!
Here’s what my meal would look like:
Not feeling that meal? How about this one?
Are you excited for baseball season?
