How to Make a Classic Mexican Margarita
Every other Tuesday, I join a couple girlfriends for margaritas so we can catch up and enjoy the delicious, fruity drinks. Granted, margaritas may be pretty fattening, but every once in a while, they’re exactly what we need.
We were supposed to go out tonight, but unfortunately, we’re all pretty busy this week. I guess Margarita Night will have to be postponed. But in the meantime, I’m going to tell you how to make a restaurant-style margarita at home!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your margarita:
* lime wedges
* kosher salt, placed in a shallow dish
* ice, crushed
* 2 oz. tequila
* 1 oz. triple sec
* juice of 1 lime
Here’s what you do:
Run a wedge of lime around the rim of a glass. Dip into salt. Fill the glass with ice. Add tequila, triple sec, lime juice. Stir.
That’s not difficult at all! But if you’re like me, you’re going to want a fruitier margarita. Here are some choices:
Lavender Margaritas – The best part of this drink is that it uses raspberries, blueberries and…dried lavender buds!
Mango Margaritas – If you’ve got a ripe mango handy, this is the drink for you!
Mama D’s Very Berry Margaritas – Sometimes a frozen margarita is the way to go. It’s cooler and goes down smooth. Plus this one is filled with lots of frozen berries!
