Celebrate National Tortilla Chip Day with Chips and Dip!

If there’s one thing I love in this world, it’s tortilla chips!  I can’t get enough of them, especially when they’re being dipped into creamy guacamole, cheesy queso, or fresh tomato salsa.   Get recipes for all of these tasty dips, plus learn how to make your own tortilla chips after the jump.

First of all, how can I make my own tortilla chips? It’s super simple and requires nothing more than 3 ingredients and a little bit of time.  Here’s how you do it:

1. Buy one 12-ounce package of corn tortillas and cut each tortilla into 6 wedges.

2. Heat 1 quart of oil in a large, heavy saucepan to 375 degrees

3. In small batches, fry the corn tortilla wedges until crisp.

4. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels. Salt to taste while warm.
