I’m a seafood nut.  I simply can’t get enough of the stuff!  From calamari and shrimp to oysters and mussels, I love it all and I would eat it every day if I could.  Because I’m obsessed with all kinds of tasty sea creatures, I decided to put together a list of my favorite seafood dishes and all the best seafood experiences I’ve ever had.  Keep reading to check ‘em out!

I looove all seafood with the exception of pieces of fish.  I don’t hate fish, but I’m just not a huge fan of a slab of salmon on my plate. I’d rather have a nice, juicy steak.  But here are the other creatures I’d like to eat all day long:

1. MUSSELS
When I first visited Brussels, Belgium, I had no idea that they were famous for their mussels.  I had heard of Belgian waffles and Belgian chocolate, but never Belgian mussels.  I soon learned thieir mussels were well-known, so I ordered some for dinner one night.  They brought me out what looked like a punch bowl full and I feasted for hours!

2. SHRIMP
I adore shrimp!  I don’t know when exactly I fell in love with it (it may have been when I first tried coconut shrimp at Bubba Gump’s), but I’ll eat ‘em any way you cook ‘em!

3. SCALLOPS
My favorite way to get my fill of scallops is by having it in a big plate of paella from my favorite tapas place, La Tasca.  I love how soft and full of flavor they are, and I also love how they absorb the flavors of the food around them.

4. Oysters
I tried raw oysters for the very first time at my local ribfest a couple summers ago (yes, for some reason they were serving oysters at a ribfest!)  They gave it to me with a little bit of hot sauce and a squeeze of lime.  I think I enjoyed them…I swallowed mine so quickly that I don’t think I really got to taste it!
