Food Network’s “Food Feuds” to Premiere October 14th

Have you heard about the Food Network‘s new show “Food Feuds?”  It’s basically a show about food rivalries around the country.  Iron Chef Michael Symons will travel from state to state deciding which restaurant makes the best red velvet cupcakes, for example.  Read more after the jump!

Here’s how the Food Network is describing their new show:
“Every town has a fierce competition between two local eateries, and Food Feuds will settle the debate with a passionate look at each city’s signature dish,” said Bob Tuschman, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Programming, Food Network. “Michael Symon’s humor, energy and expertise as an Iron Chef make him uniquely qualified to help analyze the food from every angle to determine who does it best.”

Expect to see the battle for the best Philly cheeseteak, the creamiest New York cheesecake, the tastiest New Orleans po’ boy, the crabbiest crab cakes in Baltimore, and much more!

I was a little disappointed to see that Chicago wasn’t listed among the cities they’ll be traveling to.  I mean, what a perfect place to go!  We have Chicago-style hot dogs, deep-dish pizza, Italian beef…oh well, maybe next season.

I think Michael Symon is a good pick for the host, though.  He’s definitely a fun dude and I think he’ll be able to make the whole process a good laugh.

Be sure to check out the premiere on the Food Network on Thursday, October 14th at 10pm Eastern time.
