While this may look like last week’s apple martini, it’s actually slightly different.  This week’s apple martini has a touch of caramel to make it extra sweet!  Check out what I thought of it after the jump!
How do you make the cocktail?  It’s simple!  Here’s what you need:

■4 Part(s) Ketel One Vodka
■2 Part(s) Pucker Apple Sour
■1 Part(s) Buttershots

This recipe is for 2 martinis, so I cut the recipe in half and made each “part” 1 oz.  Therefore, to make one martini, I used 2 oz. vodka, 1 oz. apple pucker, and 1/2 oz. Buttershots.

To make this drink, just throw the ingredients together in a shaker with ice, then strain them into a martini glass.  Garnish with an apple wedge, if you have (I never do!)

Now, you might be thinking, “gee, Kathryn, this drink sounds a lot like the Caramel Apple shot you had a while ago!” Well, dear reader, you would be right.  It’s the same concept, except this martini changes up the measurements a bit and also has vodka in it.

So do they taste different?  Not really; the caramel apple shot and the caramel apple martini tasted very similar.  Both were very sweet and a bit syrupy.  The martini was a bit stronger, as it also incorporated a couple shots of vodka.

The difference between the two is this: the caramel apple shot is a shot.  You drink it all in one gulp, it’s over in a second, and you only taste it for a few seconds after that.  The martini is sipped throughout the night and you could taste it for hours on end.  Personally, I think this drink was far too sweet and syrupy to drink as a martini. I could handle a sip or two, but anything after that made it feel like my teeth were coated with sugar.  I say stick to this drink as a shot. If you like super-sweet drinks, however, then give this one a try; you’ll love it!   I, personally, am just not someone who enjoys feeling like they’re drinking a melted lollipop.
