My Top 3 Frozen Summertime Treats!

verdi-granita

Summer is FAR too hot this year- so much so that I’m constantly looking for ways to cool down.  While staying cool is tough, these spectacular summer treats make it just a little bit easier.  Here are my 3 favorite frozen treats of summer 2010!

#1. Pink Grapefruit, Strawberry and Verdi Granita with Sugared Strawberries (pictured above)
How can you even read the name of this and not start drooling ?  Sugared strawberries are the BEST and fruit granitas are my absolute fave!  This is kind of a classy version of an Italian ice, as it uses sophisticated ingredients like Verdi sparkling wine and mascarpone cheese.  Serve these to your guests after dinner or sit by the pool and indulge! See the full recipe here.

#2. Mama D’s Very Berry Margaritas
I definitely enjoy a good margarita, and this one is GOOD.  With strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and orange juice, you actually feel like you’re drinking something relatively healthy!  Perfect for a summer party, these frozen treats can be poured into large pitchers and served throughout the night.  See the full recipe here.

#3. Mango Sorbet
Mangoes instantly make me think of the summertime!  Eat anything mango flavored and you feel like you’re in some kind of tropical paradise! This recipe is great because it only requires 4 ingredients and you don’t need an ice cream maker to make it.  Love, love, love it!  See the full recipe here.
