When my sister Angie is in a good mood, we all feel it. She’ll find a way to make me, and the rest of my family, just as happy as she is. This weekend, her good mood produced a delicious dessert that we all shared. On Thursday, my sister and I went through Recipe4Living to find an easy dessert recipe that contained ingredients we already had. After looking through so many delicious recipes, we decided on Recipe4Living’s Peanut Butter Bars with Chocolate Ganache.

The description read: If you like peanut butter and chocolate, you won’t be able to resist these bars. They are so moist and tasty. Right off the bat, my sister and I really wanted to try this recipe. We love peanut butter and chocolate, so we knew this recipe had to be delicious!

Ingredients:
2 C. flour
2 C. granulated sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 C. peanut butter
1 C. butter
1 C. water
2 eggs
1/2 C. buttermilk
1/2 C. semi sweet chocolate morsels
1/3 C. whipping cream

The only two ingredients we didn’t have were the buttermilk and whipping cream. My sister tagged along with my mom at the grocery store, and picked up those two ingredients. When she returned she was ready to bake!

Add eggs and buttermilk; mix well. Pour into a greased and floured 13×9 in. baking pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes. Cool 30 minutes. In a microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate morsels and whipping cream for 1 minute; stirring halfway through and spread on cake and refrigerate. Cut into bars when ready to serve.

After tasting these bars, my sister and I both agreed that they were PERFECT!

The frosting was so moist, and the peanut butter wasn’t too overwhelming. We cut the bars into bite size pieces because we knew we could probably finish them if we wanted to! The family agreed. I can’t wait until Angie is in a good mood again. Maybe we’ll get some fudge!
