My Love of Wheat Thins
Up until a year ago, I was a Triscuit girl. I ate them at least a couple times a week and would spread cream cheese or a variety of other dips on the delicious snack crackers. But then my mom brought a new cracker home. They were called Wheat Thins, and they’ve changed my life. I’ll admit, I still have Triscuits now and again, but Wheat Thins are my favorite crackers. The picture above is all the Triscuits and Wheat Thins I have left. I was pretty hungry today!
I’ve tried several of the variations, including Original, Reduced Fat, Hint of Salt, Multi-Grain and Parmesan Basil. My favorite? Definitely the Sundried Tomato & Basil. Not only are these crackers perfectly delicious by themselves, but adding a topping or making a dip to pair with them is a great idea for a party or even just a snack.
I bring Wheat Thins, and Triscuits (when I have them), to the office at least 3 times a week. They’re healthy, crispy and my favorite mid-afternoon snack. I’ve found a few dips that I like to make and spread over my Wheat Thins, when I have some extra time in the morning.
First up is this Italian Dip. It contains cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, Caesar dressing and crackers. Join this dip up with Multi-Grain Wheat Thins and you’ll have a filling snack that will keep your tummy happy.
I’d also recommend this Blue Cheese Dip with the Hint of Salt Wheat Thins. It contains cream cheese, blue cheese, sour cream, crushed pineapple and onion. That’s a whole bunch of odd ingredients, but the result is worth it.
My favorite Wheat Thins dip would be this Red Dot Dip. It’s a hit with my entire family. All you need is cream cheese, asiago cheese, horseradish, dry mustard and sweetened, dried cranberries. Such an interesting combination that is very, very tasty.
Now, I’ll admit that these dips probably aren’t the healthiest. Lucky for me, Wheat Thins come in so many healthy varieties, such as Fiber Selects Five Grain and Reduced Fat. So pack up some Wheat Thins for work tomorrow and make one of these dips. Leave some at home for your family, and I’ll bet they’ll be gone when you return later in the day.
