Smarter Lunch Ideas
When you’re on a tight budget, it can be difficult to come up with new, fun and tasty meals for lunch at the office. I know I’d much rather go out and eat every day, but not only is that not practical since I’m unfamiliar with the area, but it’s also expensive. Usually, I just stick with packing a sandwich, some raw vegetables and a fruit salad.
It’s easy for me to make in the morning and it’s moderately healthy. But it’s so, so boring! I’m getting to the point that I’m dreading that lunch. I’ve been trying to come up with some new alternatives to the common lunch and here is what I’ve discovered.
Switch up your typical sandwich. Usually, my sandwich consists of salami, Swiss cheese and a little honey mustard on wheat bread. The main problem is that there are no veggies. I can’t stand lettuce, but adding some tomato and spinach leaves will brighten up my sandwich and give it some new flavor.

I can still eat salad without lettuce. Like I mentioned before, I literally cringe at the sight of lettuce. I know it’s weird, but it’s always kept me from eating salad over the years, which is a major nutritional problem. By purchasing spinach leaves, I can still have a healthy, filling lunch.

Stocking up on soup. Even though it’s summer and the weather is hot and sticky, it doesn’t change the fact that soup is comforting during a stressful day at the office. You can even bring some cold soup, if you can’t fathom the thought of hot soup on a hot day. I love soup, so I think I’m really going to implement this idea soon.
