My 4 Favorite Life-Saving Foods

Recently, Recipe4Living has been teaching me a lot about foods that are great for my body.  The more I learn, the more I am shocked that I’m not eating these foods every day!  So, in an effort to boost my body and brain, I have decided to incorporate these 4 food into my everyday diet.

Eggs: Eggs are not the heart-stopping food that people once thought they were.  Research suggests that the cholesterol in eggs is handled differently by the body, making it not as harmful.  Eggs also promote a healthy brain, better eyesight, strong bones, and healthy hair and nails.  On top of this, they can prevent breast cancer!  Eggs have been named a “superfood” by many, and I can see why!  I’m planning to have one per day.  Learn more about the health benefits of eggs here.

Nuts: Recipe4Living has named nuts one of the best brain-boosting foods out there.  Nuts contain vitamin E, which helps prevent memory loss.  Depending on what kind of nuts you eat, you can pump extra oxygen into your brain with magnesium, or prevent cancer and heart disease with omega-3 fatty acids.  They are high in fat, however, so one ounce per day should be just the right amount.

Green tea: I have always been a big green tea drinker, but after learning more about it, I want to start drinking as much as I can!  This cancer-fighting, heart-helping, anti-inflammatory wonder beverage does it all, but you’ll need to drink several glasses per day to reap the benefits.  I’m going to push myself to have 3 or 4 glasses per day.  It sounds like a lot, but your health is worth it!

Garlic: I already love the taste of garlic, so I was thrilled to learn that I should be eating more of it!  Garlic is a powerful antioxidant that can help lower your blood pressure and cholesterol.  It also fights bacteria and viruses, and provides your body with many essential vitamins and mineralsI’m going to try to incorporate garlic into 2 of my dinners every week.  No kissing for me!
