Valentine’s Day is Officially Over…And It Was Tasty!


I know, I know, Valentine’s Day was over on February 14th, 11:59 pm,  a month and a half ago.  But for me, my celebration ended this weekend.  On Valentine’s Day, my boyfriend surprised with me tickets to see Beauty and the Beast on stage.  As a die-hard Disney fan, I could not have been more excited! Unfortunately, the tickets were not until the end of March! 

It seemed like I had to wait an eternity, but the day finally came.

Before the show, my boyfriend took  me to a wonderful Italian restaurant called Maggiano’s. For those of you who don’t know, I love love love Italian food!  As a vegetarian, pasta is my go-to food choice.  Now, my boyfriend, on the other hand, doesn’t eat pasta [pause for gasps, screams of shock and amazement, shaking of the head, crinkling of the nose, etc.] (and isn’t the biggest Disney fan), so it was truly a night out for me!

Our waiter was all smiles, taking our drink order, informing us of the specials and telling us his personal favorites.  The funny thing was that everything was his favorite! The wine, the mushroom ravioli, the bread – every single thing was was his favorite.  Somehow he seemed less credible with each food he named.

After wavering back and forth between the classic Fettucini Alfredo and the Mushroom Ravioli al Forno, I opted for the mushroom ravioli – I admit, the waiter’s glowing recommendation might have persuaded me a bit.  (I just learned that “al Forno” means “from the oven ” in Italian).  It was without a doubt the most fantastic ravioli I’ve ever had!  The top of the pasta was lightly browned and had a delicious baked taste.

Even though the restaurant was fairly dark, I tried to remember to take pictures of my food (and it was photogenic!), but I was so entranced with my meal that I remembered right after joining the clean plate club.  Oh well, you’ll  just have to imagine the beauty of baked mushroom ravioli.  Needless to say, the show was great, but the dinner was fabulous!
