Summer Snapshots From Green City Market

green-city-purple-rain-carrots

While I visited Green City Market last fall , I had yet to reap the benefits of their summer produce until this past weekend. And with purple rain carrots (pictured above) to squash blossoms to tables of fresh herbs to the best raspberries I have ever tasted, there was certainly a lot to see (and taste). I wish I lived closer to the market so I’d be able to pick up this awesome produce every weekend but regardless, I’ll definitely make an effort to go back more regularly. I definitely need more of those raspberries.

Check out some other great snapshots and recipes to match after the jump!

Well, when I went to South Haven, Michigan (the blueberry capital of the United States) back in June, I was hoping to do just that. Teased by an entire store dedicated to blueberries, I planned on buying some fresh blueberries straight from the source. But silly me, blueberry season is not until July or August. Hadn’t I heard of Blueberry Festival?!

chowderfest-smiley-cookies-and-much-more-006

Wait a second, that cookie isn’t smiling! When I saw these frowning cookies at Elegance in Meats, I did a double take (who wouldn’t?) Usually we expect those big yellow cookies with chocolate eyes and a chocolate mouth to be smiling, but not this guy. He is frowning 100%, and he’s not ashamed of it either. So if you had the choice between a smile and a frown, which would you buy? See which is more popular after the jump!
