Chicago Restaurant Week Is Back!
We’re doing it again! The city of Chicago has decided to sponsor another Restaurant Week this year which is exciting to hear in the face of the poor economy. That said, you can enjoy a three-course prix fixe meal at a normally very expensive restaurant for $22 at lunchtime and $32 during dinnertime.
Find our more details after the jump!

Over 130 restaurants are participating in this year’s event. All you have to do is make a reservation during February 20-27 and request the Restaurant Week menu. Most restaurants give you three different options per course so there is usually something for everyone.
See the entire list of restaurants and make reservations here!
The price only jumped a meager 5 cents from last year (which really just rounds out the prices to even numbers). It’s comforting too because we all know we couldn’t afford for the price to jump up too much higher.
Last year, I went to Kiki’s Bistro, enjoyed a nice French meal and wound up discovering one of my absolute favorite desserts! Just for the sake of poached pears in caramel sauce, I encourage you to just go out there and try something you wouldn’t ordinarily try. Maybe you have a special occasion to celebrate? Or maybe you should just go out for a nice dinner while the opporunity is presenting itself. It’s too bad restaurant week isn’t during Valentine’s Day :)
Let us know where you end up going!

NYC has their restaurant week too! Love the whole idea of this :)
Posted by maryann at January 28th, 2009, 3:38 pmChicago Restaurant Week is awesome. For those people frustrated that the official site doesn’t really offer access to many of the restaurants’ special 3-course menus, check out The Unofficial Guide to Chicago Restaurant Week at http://www.eatupchicago.com.
You can search for restaurants by neighborhood or cuisine type, and then view PDFs of their special restaurant week menus. There’s also some valuable news on Chicago restaurant deals.
Posted by Derek G. at January 30th, 2009, 4:12 amThere’s no need for anyone to be frustrated about special Restaurant Week menus - they’re all on the official website at http://www.eatitupchicago.com in each restaurant’s profile. The http://www.eatitupchicago.com website is the official website for Chicago Restaurant Week and it’s the only one with the complete list of all participating restaurants.
Posted by Harvey Morris at February 3rd, 2009, 1:03 pmYou can find the original and complete list of participating restaurants for Chicago Restaurant Week (including special menus) at the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau’s website http://www.eatitupchicago.com . It’s the only site with the latest, up-to-the-minute listings. Three new restaurants were added today and the list continues to grow to over 136 restaurants.
Posted by Harvey Morris at February 3rd, 2009, 11:15 pmCommenter Harvey Morris is being less than truthful when he says the special Restaurant Week menus are ALL on the official site–in fact, many are not, which is the source of diner frustration.
But diners can find many of those special Restaurant Week menus on the Unofficial Guide to Chicago Restaurant Week at http://www.eatupchicago.com.
