Endless Amounts of Cookie Recipes
It’s baking season. You know it. I know it. We all know it. It always comes as a shocker when those cookie sheets, flour sifters and endless sticks of butter slyly make their way off their respective shelves in those first days of December, but now that it’s December 10th, it should come as no surprise at all. The mixing bowls are prepped, the eggs are waiting to be cracked, now the only question is…What cookies to make this year?
We have tons of cookie recipes on the site of course, like this list of 100+ Christmas Cookie Recipes or our especially popular Christmas Cookie Countdown but sometimes all these cookie choices can be a little overwhelming to sort through. Here are my picks…
I was supposed to have a cookie baking party with friends last weekend but the weather had me feeling, well…”under the weather” so I had to cancel. We rescheduled for this Saturday so I’ll still be able to put all sorts of cookie recipes to the test. Some of the ones I like and hope to make are:
5 Layer Bars - I tasted these when I went to visit my grandpa…they are delicious! A combination of butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, pecan, graham cracker and more…you just can’t get better than that.
Candy Cane Cookies – I love these cookies, they make an adorable contribution to any holiday cookie repertoire! You can make them peppermint flavored or almond-flavored.
Red Velvet Cookies – Turn your festive red velvet cakes into a cookie!
Brownie Crinkles – Using a brownie mix, these cookies are balled and rolled through powdered sugar for that “quaked” look.
Pumpkin Pie Cookies – An unusual twist on a fall/winter treat! Yum!
I probably won’t get to making all of these but they sure soudn good! Either way, tune in next week for coverage of my cookie baking party! :)
