Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi there! Thanksgiving is almost upon us and in all my excitement, anticipation and just plain hullaballoo, I wanted to take a moment to find out what you’re doing for Thanksgiving.
Chew on That wants to know: What’s on your Thanksgiving menu? How many people are you feeding? Are you going to a potluck and if so, what are you bringing?
Please share your Thanksgiving plans in the comments!
As for me, we’re having 16 people at our house. Aunts, uncles, cousins, you name it. Our menu is going to look very similar to last year’s with a few tweaks here and there:
Appetizers:
Baked Salami
Some sort of dip (being made by my aunt)
Salad with Fall Ingredients
Relish Tray
Main Course:
Rosemary Roasted Turkey with Onion Gravy
Stuffing (not sure what kind, it’s being made by my aunt)
Green Beans, Two Ways
Dinner Rolls
Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Sweet Potatoes
Rice Noodle Casserole
Dessert:
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Crisp
Brownies
Assorted Fruit

Oddly enough, we’re eating out this year at an Indian restaurant. I’ve just had to do so much cooking for work, etc. that I decided not to cook tomorrow.
I’m really looking forward to reading about what everyone else made though! :)

I’m in Canada so Thanksgiving has been over for us last October (which I missed! haha), but I did make barbecued turkey legs with mashed potato and bread to ‘celebrate’. :)

Posted by White On Rice Couple at November 28th, 2008, 2:01 pmHappy Thanksgiving! I never do turkey. This year I made lasagna. But I prepared a ton of great stuff. Appetizers-Fig & olive tapenade w/Cream cheese, Sopressata, Fontinella cheese, green olives, pepperoncini peppers & crackers. With the lasagna I served roasted aspargus and a salad made with baby arugula, bib lettuce, snow peas, radish rounds, shallots, toasted walnuts and red wine vinegarette. Desert was a brown bag apple pie from a local orchard and Oberwiess vanilla icecream.
Posted by Donna at November 28th, 2008, 5:05 pmNo turkey, but we all eat well,
Wow, that’s a lot of food! Hope everything turned out fantastic.
This was my menu:
Turkey with Williams-Sonoma brine
Homemade stuffing made with half white bread, half cornbread
Green beans with shallots and pancetta
Carrots with honey, butter and apple cider vinegar
Homemade cranberry sauce
Deviled eggs
Biscuits
My best friend brought the mashed potatoes and pies.
