Host An Election Party!

After months and months of campaign controversy, repetitive commercials, and a whole lot of election hullabaloo, the day we’ve all been waiting for will finally be here…tomorrow. I can hardly believe it. Living in Chicago, the chosen location for Obama’s election night party, tomorrow will be both exciting and overwhelming. Our city will undergo a huge test of transportation efficiency tomorrow as an expected 800,000 people try and get themselves to Grant Park for the party. What’s my plan? STAY HOME!

Those of you that don’t live in Chicago are probably slapping themselves on the head for my insistence on not going to such a historical event right in my own hometown. It’s just that I don’t know that I can put up with a crowd of 800,000 people at an event with no end time and a commute that will require me to miss a whole day of work and I think a lot of people in this city can agree.

So what to do next? Plan an election party at home!

A couple months ago, I put together this article of menu ideas and recipes to help you plan an election night party in your very own home. For those of you who live in the suburbs of Chicago or anywhere else in this country, this is for you! For anyone who lives in the city, don’t expect your friends or family to make it to your place,  I think it’s a little bit too much to ask :)
