Presto Pasta Night #69!
Every week on Friday, I visit a little place called Presto Pasta Nights that was founded by Ruth of Once Upon A Feast. There, I drool over a collection of pasta dishes that range from homemade raviolis to dessert pastas to savory delicious dinners of tagliatelle with wild mushrooms and Parmesan cheese. If it weren’t for these weekly drool-worthy roundups, I don’t know that I would realize just how versatile pasta can be. Pasta is the kind of food that provides “a little something for everyone” and there’s no boundaries to what you can make with it.
So with all that said, I am deeply honored to be chosen as the second guest host for a blog event we can all relate to. Kevin of Closet Cooking was a tough act to follow, but I hope you’ll enjoy this roundup of pasta dishes as much as we enjoyed having them at Chew on That.
But enough about me, let’s see what all of YOU made! On to the pasta!

Pasta with Roasted Red Pepper Pesto and Grilled Vegetables
Let’s start with Ruth of Once Upon A Feast, since that’s where this whole thing began anyway. Her homemade red pepper pesto sounds fabulous if you ask me! I just want to dig into that plate right now. Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Aromatic Noodles with Lime-Peanut Sauce
We’re kicking it off with Stacy from Vicarious Foodie‘s mouth-watering dish of whole wheat noodles that have been tossed with a peanut lime sauce. This dish sounds very Thai-inspired if you ask me, and I love all of its flavors! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Orzo Cooked in Tomato Sauce
Next, we have Lulu from Mama’s Taverna‘s savory orzo in tomato sauce. Served with bread and butter, this filling meal looks incredibly tasty! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Rosewater Kulfi with Cherry Juice Steeped Noodles
And now, we have a sweet and very unique treat from Maybelle’s Mom of Feeding Maybelle‘s. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what a kulfi was so I looked it up, it’s “a popular flavored frozen dessert made with milk found in South Asia.” Thank you for the education, and the delicious dessert entry to Presto Pasta Nights! Ponzu Noodle Salad
Sarah from What Smells So Good? created a wonderful-looking salad of ponzu noodles, shrimp and all sorts of yummy vegetables. How pretty is this dish? Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Rotini with Swiss Chard and Sausage Ragu

Spicy Prawn Noodles
Who says instant noodles can’t be delicious? Made from instant noodles, this budget-friendly dinner is a mantra of sorts. Rita of Mochachocolata Rita has set down her rules when it comes to instant noodles, and this dish doesn’t break any of them! Yay for flavors and delicious pasta. Moroccan Couscous Salad
Terry from Got No Milk prepared a very tasty-looking couscous salad. Light and effortless, there’s really no excuse not to give this a try :). Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Noodles Paella with Duck
A twist on the typically rice-based paella that’s made with seafood, I found Nuria of Spanish Recipes‘ creation to be very original. Don’t you just want to bite right into it? Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Chicken and Pasta Salad with Peas
Jennifer of Seasonal Ontario Food used her pasta to create a very summery salad this week. Complete with chicken, peas, radishes, green onion, and of course…pasta, this would make a great lunch! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Cold Sesame Noodles with Leftover Duck
Pam of Sidewalk Shoes came up with this great idea for her leftovers. Salvaging her duck, she may have even created something even more delicious! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Roasted Zucchini Pasta and Blossoms
I can’t get over how beautiful the zucchini blossoms are in Sue of Coffee and Cornbread‘s pasta dish! Not to mention, all the ingredients sound incredible together. I must try this soon! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Lasagna Mozzarella Ratatouille
I think Dhanggit of Dhanggit’s Kitchen‘s creation is genius! Not only does it sound incredibly good, but merging the classic French of ratatouille and the classic Italian dish of lasagna sounds like a match made in heaven! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Pasta with Fresh Avocado Sauce
I have never heard of an avocado sauce used on pasta before Katie of Thyme for Cooking stretched my imagination. Very interesting and great photo! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Creamy Arugula Walnut Pesto and Black Pepper Tagilatelle
For having such a long name, Shaw Girl of Adventures in Shaw‘s dish is actually quite simple: noodles and pesto sauce! Sounds and looks incredibly delicious if you ask me! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Pasta, Pesto and Peas
Equally as simple, Elizabeth of Delightful Delicacy‘s pasta dish consists of very few ingredients but makes an outstanding meal or side dish. Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Spaghetti with Basil Pesto and Olives
I love how Ulrike of Kuchenlatein garnished his delicious dish of spaghetti with basil pesto and olives. And it goes to show that sometimes just a light coating of sauce will do the trick! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Yaki Soba
Deborah of Tastie put together a very authentic and tasty looking Japanese dish of yaki soba noodles made with soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin and honey. Sounds incredible! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Vegetable Penne with Cabbage Pesto
Serena of Rock Cakes wanted to make a basil pesto but settled for a cabbage pesto that looks like turned out mighty delicious! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Blue Cheese Bake
Dolores of Chronicles of Culinary Curiosity made a gooey pasta bake that almost looks like it oculd melt in your mouth. Can I come over and have some please?! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.

Spaccatelle with Duck Ragu

Penne with Tomatoes, Mushrooms and Basil
And finally, we have my dish (I’m Hillary from Chew on That). I threw together a simple sauce from tomatoes, mushrooms, basil, olive oil and garlic. It made for a quick, easy and delicious dinner if I may say so myself! Click on the photo or link above for more details on this pasta dish.
Overall, it seems like duck and pesto were popular this week! Maybe there’s something about the word “presto” that lends itself to pesto…who knows.
But a HUGE thank you again to Ruth of Once Upon A Feast who graciously passed along the torch to her great invention of Presto Pasta Nights. I know we all appreciate you spreading the love, and the pasta! And thank you to everyone who contributed a dish. We loved having them in our home this week and we hope to do it again sometime!
And don’t forget to tune back in to Once Upon A Feast for the Presto Pasta Night Roundup #70! See you there!
